Preparation

Start with the sauce: mix mirin, soy sauce and sugar in a small pot and bring the mixture to the boil.

Now turn down the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes until it is thick and syrupy.

Now take the pot off the stove and let the sauce cool down.

In the meantime, cut the chicken into cubes and the spring onions into 2.5 cm (1 inch) long pieces.

Now take the skewers and skewer spring onions and chicken alternately (approx. 4 pieces of chicken and 3 spring onions).

When all skewers are ready, spread the sauce on the meat and spring onions.

Grill the skewers either over fire or coal or in the oven at around 180 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. You can also use a table grill*.

Before eating, the pieces of meat can be dipped into the sauce again or simply salted. Enjoy your meal!
