A black and white photo looking through an open stall door at a Japanese squat toilet. The white ceramic fixture sits level with a raised platform built from small dark square tiles with bright grout lines, and a chrome flush valve rises from the floor behind it. A metal grab bar is mounted on the back wall of the stall. The plain partition panels and tiled floor fill the rest of the frame, giving the shot a clean, functional feel.

A split image contrasting two styles of toilet in Japan. On the left, labeled "ALT," is a traditional Japanese squat toilet set into dark tiled flooring, with a metal handrail mounted on the wall and the door standing open. On the right, labeled "NEU," a modern white washlet toilet with an electronic control seat sits on light wood flooring next to a wooden vanity cabinet, a toilet paper holder, and a small trash bin, with a soft rug on the floor. The blue text "ALT / NEU" runs along the bottom center, marking the old versus new comparison.
