Summary
Yogi is a new stylish Korean restaurant that has secured a place in the Korean and Japanese district around Oststraße (as of September 2017). Yogi uses the concept of a bar with the possibility of ordering delicious Korean dishes (similar to SauSalitos). The menu features typical Korean dishes that are served with beer and soju. Yogi is the ideal place for a cozy evening with friends, beer, soju and tasty food. However, those who expect a pure restaurant will not be satisfied here.
Yogi - Bar and Restaurant
Yogi is a Korean bar and a kind of restaurant at the same time, which only opens its doors in the evening hours. In South Korea, such establishments are common, as Koreans want to eat delicious food with friends over a glass of beer in the evening. Typically, the dishes are ordered in a group and shared. Such a concept is rather unusual in Germany, but comparable to SauSalitos. Yogi is the perfect place for groups of 2 or more people.
What We Ordered
We ordered 2 dishes together. First, fried beef (Sogoi-Sukju) and second, famous Korean chicken (Yamyem Padack). There were also three small side dishes that complemented our order free of charge. Among them was my beloved cucumber salad Oi Muchim.
Taste
In our opinion, the ordered dishes were very delicious. The side dishes were okay and not really special. Unfortunately, no Kimchi was served, which was not a tragedy for Ryu, but I (Matthias) would have liked to have eaten Kimchi. I have been to Yogi 2 other times before and have tried other dishes. So far, all the dishes have convinced me very much in terms of taste.
The Value for Money
A dish at Yogi costs between 10 and 18 euros. In terms of price and quality, the dishes (that we tried together and I tried alone) are very good. I recommend coming here with a larger group so you can order several dishes at once and still stay cheaper. The larger your group, the cheaper the final amount will be.
Conclusion
- Especially the chicken was my favorite. A real treat with the leeks
- Unfortunately no Kimchi as a side dish
- Very nice service
- Cool atmosphere, I like this bar feeling with delicious food
- I will definitely come back
- Unfortunately no website yet and especially unknown to non-Koreans
- My favorite was definitely the beef dish
- Relaxed location, cool interior for a bar
- But it's not a restaurant, more of a bar. Anyone who assumes it's just a restaurant will be disappointed
- Very nice service
- I would also come back again
- Unfortunately no website yet and especially unknown to non-Koreans
- Hard to find if you don't know Düsseldorf
Comments
