    Izakaya Masa at a Glance

The Izakaya Masa restaurant in San Diego is a very popular place for a quick bite to eat. It's not a fancy restaurant where you have to worry about dress code or noise levels. However, "quick" refers more to the food, as it arrives very quickly after ordering. Getting a seat, however, takes a bit longer. As with any classic Japanese restaurant, you have to register at the door. You have to write yourself and your companions on a list. Then you can wait outside until you are called. We were greeted and served very friendly by the staff. Accordingly, we would give the restaurant a big plus for the service in the overall rating.

    Summary of Conclusion

Izakaya Masa is a small classic Japanese Izakaya. You can find almost all typical appetizers and even Japanese beer. The shop looks very authentic and is easy to find. You get your ramen in the desired form and it tastes quite good. The price is reasonable and is neither too expensive nor very cheap. The menu can also be read on the website.

Slightly long waiting times may seem unattractive, but this shows how popular it is.

If you want to eat a delicious and healthy meal in San Diego, then we definitely recommend a visit to this Izakaya.

The Appetizer: Edamame and Asahi as a Classic Starter

For our appetizer, we ordered classic edamame and Japanese beer. It was about whetting the appetite. It was also a great cool-down and snack after the long trip from Phoenix to San Diego. This type of dish and feeling when eating is called "Sappari" in Japan (feel fresh, eat fresh - in terms of the type and not how fresh the food is. So cucumber, lettuce, mint is fresh.).

    Main Course: Ramen

We had one Shio Ramen with corn, Chashou, bamboo shoots, spring onions and Nori[/link] . The other ramen was a Tonkotsu Ramen with garlic, spring onions, Nori[/link] , Benishouga and Chashou. The two ramen were super delicious and definitely worth the price. We were both full, but we still enjoyed an orange sorbet.
