The preparation:

  1. Prepare the onigiri & cook the rice following these instructions. Since this recipe only describes the filling, the Onigiri basic recipe explains all the important things about onigiri.

  2. Season the meat with spices and add some vegetables if desired. But be careful, the pieces of meat and vegetables must be a bit smaller, as not much fits in the hole of the onigiri.

  3. Now put the meat with vegetables (if desired) into the pre-made hole. I advise against putting too much in, as otherwise the onigiri will become too mushy and crumble apart.

  4. Now the hole needs to be closed and shaped into a round or triangular shape.

  5. Finally, wrap the nori sheet around the onigiri and serve.

  6. Done! Enjoy your meal :)

    Summary

Onigiri mit Fleisch is a culinary site dedicated to the delightful Japanese dish of onigiri, which are triangular rice balls typically filled with fish, meat, or vegetables. These hand-held snacks, often wrapped in nori to prevent sticking, are not only popular in Japan but also enjoyed in Germany for their convenience, taste, affordability, and versatility across meals, from breakfast to dinner. The site offers recipes and tips, including a basic onigiri recipe and helpful suggestions for mold if shaping by hand proves challenging, making it an excellent resource for anyone looking to explore or perfect their onigiri-making skills.

Onigiris are triangular Japanese rice balls made from rice, water, and a filling of fish, meat, or vegetables. To prevent the rice from sticking to the hands, a sheet of nori is usually wrapped around the onigiri. Since onigiris are handy, delicious, durable, and inexpensive, they are popular in Japan and also in Germany. Whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as a snack, onigiris are always suitable.
