Mari To Kazuo

Konnichiwa. My name is Mari, I am half-Japanese and spent my youth in Japan. I started blogging because, on one hand, I was repeatedly asked for Japanese recipes. On the other hand, I wanted to document the development of my son (then 2) and let distant relatives and friends share in our experiences. Kazuo is the Japanese name of my son. Many recipes come from my Japanese baking and cooking books, which I always bring back in large quantities from my trips to Japan. Since I enjoy baking, most of the recipes are of a sweeter nature. However, you will also find Japanese everyday dishes on the blog as well as Western ones.

Thai Food Blogs
Foodie Yamwoonsen (As of Oct. 2017)

Hello, my name is Jens Ihrig, I was born in the late 1970s and have been living in Karlsruhe for 14 years. I discovered my love for cooking at a young age. My passion for Asian cuisines, especially since a three-month trip through Southeast Asia after the end of my studies. Since that first stay, I have been to this beautiful part of the world over ten times and have fallen a little more in love with Thailand, its neighbors, and their cuisines each time.
"Yam Woon Sen" is a Thai glass noodle salad and one of my favorite Thai dishes. It was therefore a perfect name for my blog , where almost everything revolves around Thai cuisine and its neighboring countries. But delicious recipes from other parts of the world also find a place in my kitchen and on my blog. Additionally, I sometimes feature a cookbook, a delicious wine, a refreshing beer, or the occasional kitchen utensil.

Asia Street Food (As of Oct. 2017)

We are Heike and Stefan, chefs, writers, photographers, and passionate travelers. My wife Heike is an enthusiastic photographer, and I love cooking, trying out new recipes, and writing them down. During our travels to Asian countries, we discover traditional dishes in their cultural context. We have helped to expand the culinary horizons of many and strive to encourage as many fans as possible to engage with the culinary traditions of foreign cultures, always following the motto “Stories about eating something somewhere … are really stories about the place and the people living there… the reading of a food’s story reveals, like any good travelogue, a much bigger story – a cultural geography – of particular times and places.” by Susanne Freidberg.
We have been sharing our experiences since 2011 on our website Asia Street Food , the most visited website for authentic, Asian cuisine in Germany. Our first cookbook Asia Street Food has won the Gourmand Cookbook Award “Best in the World" as well as the silver medal from the German Gastronomic Academy. In 2016, the third edition was already published with a total of 18,000 printed copies. Our second book Asia Street Bowls was released in the early months of 2017 and has already received excellent reviews. We live in Frankfurt, from where we set out on culinary expeditions.

Vietnamese Cooking (As of Nov. 2017)

The site vietnamesisch-kochen.de is primarily my personal project because I have Vietnamese roots, love Vietnamese food, and I know that Vietnamese cuisine suits European tastes very well. Here in Hamburg, you can now eat Vietnamese both out and at home. The variety is great and the quality of the food is wonderful. Therefore, I not only collect recipes but also write restaurant reviews and write about food trends. As a media student with several years of professional experience in online marketing (focus on SEO) and expertise in the field of search engines, I was also looking for a new challenge and easy ways to apply my learned marketing knowledge. My small blog thus combines two important aspects that are very important to me personally, which is why I put a lot of heart and soul into it. I look forward to any kind of attention and feedback on my blog!
