A wide white bowl of Pho Bo, Vietnamese beef noodle soup, fills the left side of the frame. The clear amber broth holds flat rice noodles, slices of beef, slivered red onion, chopped scallions, and torn green herbs floating on top. Beside it sits a smaller pale green plate with the fresh garnishes: a pile of raw bean sprouts, large leaves of Thai basil, sliced red chilies, and a wedge of lemon to squeeze into the soup. The dark table and simple plates suggest a casual restaurant meal, served at Mr. Nam 68, a Vietnamese restaurant in Essen.

A large black bowl filled with Bun Bo Nam Bo, the Vietnamese beef noodle salad, sits on a dark wooden table. The dish is built over a mound of thin white rice vermicelli, topped with warm slices of beef, a generous scatter of crispy fried shallots and crushed peanuts, and fresh greens like lettuce, cucumber, and herbs tucked underneath. Next to the bowl is a small white dish of nuoc cham, the sweet and tangy dipping sauce, its amber color flecked with a few bits of chili and garlic. The photo is taken from above, so the layered composition of the dish is easy to read: pale noodles on one side, the browned, garnish-heavy beef portion dominating the center.

Pro:
meine Gesamtbewertung : 9 / 10 kleines vietnamesisches Restaurant. Günstig und super lecker. Bist du in Essen? Dann schaue hier vorbei.
